As the dust settled during the aftermath and horror of the first nuclear massacres, the seeds for more positive uses of this mysterious new energy were quietly planted. Atomic Gardening became a method whereby highly radioactive material is used to try and elicit beneficial mutations from our food. Strange and new varieties were cultivated with some becoming commonplace. Other Strains however remained obscure, growing stranger and stranger as time passed. Little was known about them, until now. So if you happen upon any such beings do not hesitate to make contact. Their beneficial mutations may very well elevate your own life beyond the common place.

The Frutopian beings presented here are unique and hand drawn, for real, on actual paper with analogue pencils and pens. They are then painstakingly coloured via pirated software on a 15 year old computer and their various features spliced together, creating vast combinations and possibilities. You can view these on Stargaze which is a place for NFT’s, which themselves are like some crypto powered tradeable digital art. But don’t worry if that’s not your thing, there are other ways to get involved. Naturally as this is a project with legs, you can tune into the internet to gain Frutopian knowledge as it becomes available. There are stickers too and even some wearable garments. Eventually however, all crew members will receive a special pass which entitles them to free peace of fruit from any proprietor in the whole world.

Frequently Asked QuestionsQ. Who created Frutopia?
A. This project is created by Tomo, an artist from Liverpool, a small town near the edge of Europe known for its salty spray. When not gripping isographs or aging hardware he is fond of perpendicular scribbling and making things that have been exhibited or installed in many places. However several years ago he decided to take his work back underground. Q. Did you make all that up about the Atomic Gardening?
A. Not at all, humans have always enjoyed playing with their food. Sometime after they dropped the bomb on Nagasaki it was discovered that many crops near the blast centre had doubled their normal size and yield. The scientific community, perhaps recovering from a collective guilt, decided to explore this further and Atomic Gardening began to take root.Q. Bloody hell?
A. I know, if it works with giant monsters and superhero's it must work with plants too? Plus it’s still happening today, the United Nations have many ongoing programmes worldwide.Q. Was L. Ron Hubbard of Scientology really involved in this?
A. Yes he was, Ron was very fond of irradiating his seeds but please rest assured that he is in no way involved with anything that you see here.Q. What’s the deal with these NFT’s?
A. Think of it like trading Pokemon's or Pog's or something, there are 3000 Frutopian's each with different characteristics, some more rare than others. There's no battling though as they tend to get along but you can still train them just incase.Q. Ok I want one, how do I do it?
A. First you will need a suitable digital wallet either on your phone or as a browser extension, you could use this one called Keplr. Then head here to Kado and buy a coin called ATOM, or alternatively from any of the major crypto exchanges. Buying crypto is more difficult than obtaining radioactive material. So if you can make it this far without developing a hernia give yourself a round of applause, connect your Keplr to Stargaze and trade ATOM for Frutopian's.Q. I cant be bothered though?
A. Well they are still viewable but perhaps you might have more fun wearing the t-shirt or sticking the stickers. Just click on the merch link above, it's super user friendly.Q. Hang on, it's not sold out already is it?
A. Yes, it didn't take long. You can buy them on the secondary market though and the floor price is still reasonable at the moment, even if they do seem to be growing.Q. I think I might have one in my wallet but cant find it?
A. If you visit stargaze through the browser in your Keplr you will find it on your profile under my tokens.Q. Does Frutopia have a roadmap?
A. Kind of but not really. It's more like a treasure map. You can find a copy of it at the bottom of this page.Q. Do Frutopian's have utilities?
A. They might have? If you discover any good one's please get in touch and let us know.Q. Is it true that Frutopia is the first collection to launch using Jackal Protocol's decentralised storage?
A. It certainly is, Frutopia is the first collection to mint using this new and exciting storage option. Before now fully decentralised NFT storage was only a dream, which makes Frutopia part of NFT history & one you can tell your grandkids about. If you wanna learn more click here and join the fun.Q. Will it work if I try and use them as a profile picture?
A. Yes it will as their form factors lend themselves rather favourably to this and people will be intrigued.Q. But I tried it on Twatter and they made it look terrible?
A. Yes Twatter messes with our images. If you re-size it yourself to 500 x 500 px and save as a JPEG it will look a whole lot better.Q. Can any Jehovah’s Witnesses be down with the Frutopia?
A. Of course, everyone can be down. Especially those who are somewhere on the electromagnetic spectrum.
